GENERAL COMMENTS
This liturgical service book was prepared "by the order of" the Religious Council of the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul. It is for the Blessing of the Grapes, conducted on the Feast of the Assumption, celebrated by the Armenian Church on the Sunday closest to the 15th of August. In addition to liturgical direction and text, the booklet contains the service translated into Modern Western Armenian. A preface by V. Rev. Fr. Tatoul Anoushian and a "How and Why" section by Dn. Vagharshag Seropyan (now Fr. Hovagim) explain the history of the service, the meaning of the feast, and the background to the publication. Both prefaces are marked as written in 2009 from the Island of Kinali. The dedication says that its publication was realized by the Nersesyan Choir of St. Gregory the Illuminator of the Island of Kinali in memory of members who have passed away.
