CONTENT DESCRIPTION
A "conversion" into Modern (Western) Armenian of a Classical Armenian Text of Meditation on the "Seven Sorrows" of Virgin Mary by an Armenian Catholic Mkhitarist Monk
GENERAL COMMENTS
An "updating" or "conversion" to Modern (Western) Armenian of a text written by an Armenian Catholic monk in the 19th century. It is a meditation on the "Seven Sorrows" of the Mother of God (the Virgin St. Mary). The "Seven Sorrows" is a Catholic doctrine, and the seven sorrows of St. Mary are given as:
The First Sorrow: The Prophecy of Simeon and Anna.
The Second Sorrow: The Flight into Egypt.
The Third Sorrow: The Loss of the Child Jesus.
The Fourth Sorrow: The Condemnation of Jesus.
The Fifth Station: The Crucifixion of Jesus.
The Sixth Station: The Retrieval of Jesus' Body.
The Seventh Station: The Burial of Jesus.
I have never seen this meditation or the teaching on the "Seven Sorrows" in an Armenian Apostolic Context Before.
