CONTENT DESCRIPTION
The story of the defense of the village Iwardo in Tur Abdin (Turkey), via one of its leaders, Gello Grigo, told by his son Isa Grigo to their (grand)son in the Netherlands.
GENERAL COMMENTS
This is the story of the village of Iwardo during the Sayfo of 1915, through the eyes of a leader of the village, as told to his son who was born after the sayo (in 1935) - told and recorded by their (grand)son in the Netherlands. Via a QR-code the actual recording on youtube can be accessed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwCLMXjtpm0). Note that the recording was done in Surayt (the vernacular Aramaic of the region), but that the book presents the story in four other languages: English, Dutch, German and Turkish.
Note further that although Bar `Ebroyo Verlag (Glane, Netherlands) is notes as publisher, it is not stated that the book is published in this location.
