GENERAL COMMENTS
The "Programme," a set of rules and founding principles for an Armenian youth group in Manchester. Established (հիմնեալ) in Manchester in 1911, the first article declares the name of the group: "The association (ընկերակցութիւն) gathered from the Manchester Armenian community (հասարակութիւն) is called "Armenian Youths' Club." The aim is "To have a center where Armenians gather to be together for the goal of their moral, intellectual and physical improvement (զարգացում) and advancement (յառաջդիմութիւն)." They declare that "The club will have no connection (առնչութիւն) with National or Political parties." The final page of the "Programme" declares that "this Programme and the rules contained therein were ratified by the General Council on 8 August 1915." Two signatories in "Manchester, 18 August 1915."
