GENERAL COMMENTS
The number of pages is 286 without geographical maps and 291 including these 5 maps: 1) 287: the world during the time of Abraham, 2) Palestine and the tribes of Israel, 3) Palestine during Jesus Christ, 4) The first and second mission of St. Paul, and 5) St. Paul's third mission and travel to Rome. This new translation of the Tigrinya-Bible (2000) is the revised Bible with Deuterocanonical books published as "Metshaf Kidus Kaliay Quenona Beluy Kidan Zihaze" (መጽሓፍ ቅዱስ ካልኣይ ቀኖና ብሉይ ኪዳን ዝኅዘ). All three Christian churches as recognized by the Eritrean Government participated in this edition. In the 6th paragraph of the introduction (page iii), one reads: "The Orthodox Tewahdo Church, the Catholic Church, and the Evangelical (Lutheran-Evangelical, HY) have participated in this work. However, only two participated in the translation of the Deuterocanonical books: the Orthodox Tewahdo and the Catholic Church.
