CONTENT DESCRIPTION
The book is a collection of texts on spiritual heath and spiritual care, with discussions about illness, healing and the role of God, saints and Christian faith regarding these issues. The book also contains biographies and glorifications of multiple saints and martyrs.
GENERAL COMMENTS
The book was prepared by a monk at the Monastery of St. Pishoy (Bishoy) in Wadi El Natrun, in Egypt, and revised by Anba Maximos, Bishop of Banha and Quesna. It contains parts of biographies of saints and martyrs who were considered healers or believed to be first Christian 'doctors', including St. Luke the Evangelist, St. Cosmas and Damian, St. Demetrius the Doctor, St. Gregorious, etc. In addition, there is a text about Dr. Magdi Habib Yacoub, an Egyptian-British surgeon and professor of Coptic origin, his career and his professional achievements in medicine (in cardiology). On January 23, 2014, Pope Tawadros II presented Dr. Yacoub with the "Ola Ghabbour" award, an annual award for philanthropy and cultural contributions. The ceremony was held at the Coptic cultural center of the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo.
This is the third edition (the first edition was published in 2014).
The wording "Special Collection" is literally referred to as a "perfumed selection" (symbol of flowers in reference to prayers).
