CONTENT DESCRIPTION
This book is part of a nine-volume series about the history of the Coptic Church. The author mentions that this is the history of the Egyptian Orthodox Church founded by St. Mark the Evangelist. Each part covers a certain period of the history.

GENERAL COMMENTS
Iris Habib el Masri (sometimes also spelled as 'Elmasry' or 'El-Masry') was a very prominent figure in the Coptic Church and is probably the most important female Coptic historian. She was closely tied to the Church as her father, Habib el Masri, was the secretary of the Majlis al-Milli ('Congregational Council') of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt.
