The book explains the meaning and origins of the feast of Nayrouz. The author explains the old Egyptian calendar and the importance of this feast for old Egyptians, as well as for today's Coptic Church, relating it to the Coptic martyrdom and emphasizing the need to honor their martyrs.

GENERAL COMMENTS
Coptic Orthodox Church uses the old Egyptian calendar which starts with the month of Touth (or Toth/Tut). Coptic new year (Touth 1) corresponds to September 11 according to the Gregorian calendar. On September 11, 2020 the Coptic Church celebrated the beginning of the year 1737 A.M. (Anno Martyrum)
